Whenever we purchase a product for personal use such as medicines, beverages, cosmetics, etc. our primary concern is the quality of the product. We assess quality by various parameters including brand name, company, contents, aesthetics, and packaging. The other important criterion for product use is its safety.

A product presented in good packaging with proper sealing, no leaks, and tamper evidence symbolizes quality and safety. The packaging offers assurance that the contents are intact and will sustain through the shelf life. Companies strive to provide the perfect packaging for the product.

The packaging should be compliant with the product, endure the environment, user friendly and not too expensive.

Induction sealing offers a perfect solution to all the packaging requirements.

    What is Induction Cap Sealing?

Let me tell you in brief what is the process of induction cap sealing. It is a process where the liner within the cap of the bottle is sealed on the mouth of bottle using induction heating. The filled and capped bottle is passed under the cap sealing machine head and the sealing is done through a no contact method.

The liner within the cap has multiple layers. The sealing head emits an electromagnetic field when the container is passed under it. The eddy current heats the aluminum foil liner that seals the mouth of the container.

This non-invasive process helps to achieve a hermetic seal on the bottle with the cap closed and does not affect the contents. Induction sealing is extensively used for plastic and glass containers of varying sizes.

    What is Cap sealing Liner?

For you to understand the process of induction sealing it is important to know about the liner. The liner that is placed in the cap has multiple layers, each with a different function. The layers include pulp board, wax, aluminum foil and polymer.

The pulp board is soft and glued to the cap. On induction heating, the wax melts and is absorbed into pulp packing and releases the foil. The polymer coating melts and seals the foil on the mouth of the container.
